VJC Archive Series One Seminar with Livestream

LOCATION: VERMONT JAZZ CENTER & LIVESTREAMED The Vermont Jazz Center Archive is a labor of love which has taken over 7 years from conception to realization. The VJC is grateful for the tireless input of dozens of volunteers, interns and professionals. To best understand the structure of the archive, envision it as a catch-all for all the documented events that have occurred under the auspices of the VJC since Attila Zoller began recording himself at gigs through the present day. The VJC, under the leadership of Eugene Uman and Elsa Borrero since 1997, is now outfitted with professional audio and video gear to capture and preserve the historic music that takes place at our venue. The online offerings (digital assets) are divided into 4 categories: Concert highlights Masterclass features Blast from the Past Zoller Collection Our collection of 1500 jazz-related books and 7,000 jazz-related CDs are housed at the Vermont Jazz Center’s Cotton Mill Hill venue and are available for in-house enjoyment. Releases of archived digital materials will be made available every 4 months (three times a year) on our website portal. Interested parties should contact VJC Director, Eugene Uman to gain access to additional material. Digital Assets The VJC Archive is home to a treasure trove of historically significant video and audio recordings, totaling hundreds of hours of studio-quality concert videos and masterclasses, recorded primarily at our venue. Thanks to funds received from a CLIR grant (Council of Library and Information Resources), the VJC Archive houses over 160 hours of digitized files that were transferred from the original recordings made by VJC founder, Attila Zoller using reel-to-reel and cassette tapes.
